Fort Collins, CO, February 24, 2017 (Newswire.com) - In a blog posted last night, The Addiction Advocates tells the media that they are part of the problem, not the solution. Marcus Hansen, the Founder of the non-profit writes "As a champion for those battling addiction, The Addiction Advocates are sickened by the way the media covers addiction in our country. The lack of help provided by almost all of media outlets in this country is part of a vicious cycle."
The Addition Advocates are calling on the media to stop simply delivering the bad news, but to give the viewer options and some bit of hope.
"Its simple. a homeowner would never call a firehouse to tell them that their home is on fire, but then not give them an address."

With opiate addiction climbing, and record number overdoses across the country, The Addiction Advocates are putting a full court press on the media. We asked Marcus Hansen about his blog and what he is looking for, he said, "Its simple. a homeowner would never call a firehouse to tell them that their home is on fire, but then not give them an address. This is what we are seeing with the media. The media gives the horrible stats on addiction and overdoses, but doesn't provide a resource for those people in need."
The Addiction Advocates was created to help those looking for treatment navigate all aspects of the process. From providing free intervention services, to working with the family and loved ones to review all financial possibilities, the advocates work with everyone to help them select the right center based on their specific recovery needs.
